Role Summary

The Project Transmission Line Manager (Site) - Tx is accountable for delivering assigned sections of 765/400 kV transmission line work within planned timelines, budget limits, and quality expectations. The position requires a strong focus on zero-harm practices, statutory compliance, disciplined site execution, and proactive coordination with internal and external stakeholders to keep project progress on track.

Key Responsibilities

This role covers end-to-end site execution, from foundation and erection through stringing activities, while ensuring work progress matches schedule targets and quality norms. It also involves reviewing survey inputs and site conditions to confirm tower positioning, route alignment, extension requirements, and critical crossing locations such as highways and railways. The manager must build and update L2 schedules, forecast weekly and monthly labour/material needs, and prepare daily as well as monthly MIS reports for leadership.

Quality control is a core part of the role, including implementation of Field Quality Plans and adherence to IS Codes and CBIP manuals. The incumbent will also support compliance by enforcing OHS practices, conducting safety training, and carrying out regular inspections to reduce risk. Documentation responsibilities include compensation records, landowner agreements, and other administrative files needed to secure approvals and prevent penalties.

On the stakeholder side, the role requires coordination with government offices and local administration for landowner and ROW matters, as well as regular interaction with vendors and contractors to resolve issues and avoid time or cost overruns. The position also involves arranging shutdowns and obtaining required permissions for smooth execution.

Financial discipline is another important area, including tracking project spend, managing resources responsibly, and checking vendor bills for correctness, approvals, and timely processing. The manager should also use project software and digital tools for live tracking, better communication, resource planning, and continuous improvement in execution methods.

Compliance, Safety and Risk

The site must be run with a strong zero-harm mindset, with frequent safety checks, hazard identification, and corrective action. The role also includes maintaining alignment with regulatory requirements, statutory approvals, and project specifications to reduce compliance and quality risks.

Stakeholder Interaction

Internal stakeholders include Projects, Engineering, and HO teams. External coordination is required with STU, CTU, SLDC, and NRLDC.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should hold a B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering. The role requires 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in executing high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line projects. Hands-on exposure to Right of Way issue resolution and working knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for transmission line sites are essential.
