Job description
Role overview
An international engineering contractor is seeking a skilled Project Planner to support the execution of a major hyperscale data centre build in Germany. This is a permanent position with strong continuity on a long-running project, exposure to large mission-critical infrastructure, and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced delivery teams on complex engineering work.
Key responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage integrated construction schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Prepare labour-loaded programmes, histograms, S-curves, and progress updates.
- Work alongside Project Managers, Commercial teams, and site personnel to track progress and highlight schedule risks.
- Coordinate with the main contractor to build and maintain a unified project programme.
- Run planning meetings, short-term look-ahead reviews, and schedule coordination sessions.
- Monitor productivity, compare actual performance with the plan, and assist with recovery actions when needed.
- Identify programme threats early and recommend practical mitigation measures.
Requirements
- A degree or similar qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or another relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Prior background in project planning for construction, engineering, or mission-critical projects.
- Good command of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Ability to review technical drawings, commercial documents, and construction methods.
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills.
