Role overview
Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is seeking a permanent Project Manager for the Student Journey function based in Wellington. This full-time role is a 1.0 FTE position, equivalent to 40 hours per week, with a planned start in July or August 2026.
About Te Kura
Te Kura is New Zealand’s largest school, serving up to 24,000 ākonga at any given time. The school delivers personalised and genuine learning pathways through distance education, spanning early childhood through to NCEA Level 3, and also supports young adult and adult learners.

About the role
The Project Manager - Student Journey will assist the Programme Manager Learning Delivery and the Learning Delivery Leadership team in strengthening and evolving all aspects of the Student Journey. This includes support for the Onboarding Tool and Engagement Tool, along with subject matter expertise, advice, and coordination across school-wide initiatives.

- Strong, wide-ranging knowledge of Te Kura, its people, and its systems.
- The ability to think through complete end-to-end processes and take a practical, solution-focused approach to work.
- Well-established relationships across the wider organisation.
- Experience and understanding of student engagement approaches, including enrolment and onboarding.
- Experience working with partner organisations, including the Ministry of Education.
- Good planning skills, flexibility, and the ability to respond effectively to emerging issues.
