Role Overview
The Project Manager at RedCompass Labs is responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery, reliable results, and on-time completion of projects. The role demands thorough planning, early risk anticipation, and constant progress monitoring against scope, budget, and timeline. Candidates need to be proactive in identifying and resolving issues before they escalate.
Success in this role requires adaptability to different client environments, multitasking across multiple initiatives, close collaboration with cross-functional teams, clear proactive communication, and stakeholder engagement. The manager must effectively balance detailed project management activities with strategic oversight to guide teams toward overall objectives. An essential skill is the ability to tailor communication for different audiences—from technical teams to senior executives—conveying complex information clearly and succinctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and be accountable for project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, budgeting, and closure.
- Define and communicate project goals and deliverables to responsible parties clearly.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor a mid-level project plan as a quality checkpoint for reporting and measuring client delivery.
- Lead client workshops to validate and align on business strategies, requirements, timelines, and plans.
- Probe underlying assumptions and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Prepare contingency and recovery plans as needed.
- Bridge communication between project, business, operations, and technical teams impartially.
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues promptly to minimize disruption to schedules.
- Support program managers in delivering projects within larger portfolios.
- Exhibit leadership and resilience to ensure successful project completion.
- Manage stakeholder expectations regarding deliverables, schedules, and go-live impacts.
- Create internal and external status reports regularly for management and clients.
- Take ownership of balanced, effective project reporting at all organizational levels.
Candidate Profile
- Experience leading global teams and coordinating their efforts effectively.
- Proficiency in planning, reporting, and budgeting for projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to suggest solutions independently.
- Analytical mindset to understand issues affecting progress.
- Confidence in communicating with senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with vendors and technical/development teams.
- Ability to comprehend client environments and nurture relationships.
- Effective time management with agility in reprioritizing tasks to meet schedules.
- Clear, authoritative, and coherent communication style.
- Pragmatic and direct decision-making capabilities.
- Capability to conduct informed discussions with clients, teams, stakeholders, and suppliers and document outcomes for action.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with real-time and high-value payment systems in North America.
- Exposure to global payment initiatives and cross-border payment systems.
- Project Management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Equivalent experience or training from a leading consulting firm (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, PWC, Bain).

Additional Information
- Applicants must be located in Toronto, Canada; candidates outside this region will not be considered.
