About the Role and Company

We are seeking a technically proficient MEP Project Engineer with expertise in delivering complex construction projects, overseeing engineering coordination, procurement, and on-site execution. This position focuses on managing engineering deliverables, guaranteeing technical compliance, and aiding successful delivery of large-scale and mission-critical infrastructure developments in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all contractual, consultant, and statutory requirements throughout project phases.
  • Prepare and oversee material submittals aligned with project and consultant specifications, maintaining a material approval register for timely approvals.
  • Develop method statements and conduct risk assessments complying with project Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
  • Manage procurement timelines and long-lead items, coordinating with procurement teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to meet project demands.
  • Administer engineering documentation and drawings, guaranteeing timely issuance of approved documents to site teams.
  • Lead engineering coordination activities involving drafting teams and maintain drawing submittal and projection schedules.
  • Facilitate value engineering efforts alongside senior engineers and construction managers, including preparing material take-offs.
  • Review design, engineering, and installation details for compliance with project requirements and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and site personnel to confirm installation quality and adherence to project timelines.
  • Support system testing and commissioning processes ensuring operational alignment with design specifications.
  • Participate actively in project meetings by providing technical progress updates and engineering support.
  • Identify, analyze, and solve technical challenges on site to uphold safety, quality, and schedule goals.
  • Maintain detailed departmental dashboards, trackers, logs, and prepare reports including weekly/monthly management briefs.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across procurement, commercial, and QA/QC reporting, supporting governance and digital reporting platform development.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), coordinate meeting agendas, action trackers, and promote process improvements via data analysis.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Solid understanding of MEP systems, focusing on mechanical and plumbing components.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering deliverables including drawings, submittals, and procurement tracking.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, HSE standards, and project scheduling coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, and team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Autodesk Revit software.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, hospitality, commercial, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
  • Familiarity with BIM 360, ACC, or other Common Data Environment platforms.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for project scheduling.
  • Understanding of UAE local authority regulations and approval processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of solid experience in MEP contracting, construction, or mission-critical projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems design, installation procedures, testing, and commissioning.
  • Experience collaborating with consultants, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with local and international electrical codes and standards.
