Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Project Electrical Engineer to support high-voltage transmission and substation assignments across Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will take charge of the electrical side of project delivery, making sure the work aligns with technical requirements, safety expectations, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate electrical engineering work for HV transmission projects, including overhead line and underground works, as well as substation jobs.
- Examine electrical designs, drawings, and technical submissions, and give approvals where appropriate.
- Work closely with civil, mechanical, and quality teams to keep project execution aligned across disciplines.
- Ensure all electrical activities follow Saudi Electricity Company standards and the project’s technical requirements.
- Track project status, flag potential issues early, and carry out corrective measures when needed.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to close out technical queries and resolve engineering concerns.
- Draft reports, maintain project documentation, and support site inspections and testing activities.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in high-voltage transmission and substation projects.
- Solid understanding of Saudi Electricity Company standards and general electrical engineering practices.
- Ability to use electrical design tools and the Microsoft Office suite effectively.
- Strong communication, coordination, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Requirements for Non-Citizen Applicants
- The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering that was completed at least 5 years ago.
Additional Requirements for Applicants from Saudi Arabia
- A valid Saudi driving license is required.
- Active membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers is required.
- Having prior Saudi Electricity Company approval or submission history is preferred.
