Role overview
Downer’s Infrastructure Delivery team is looking for a Programming Lead to support a major transport project in the Horowhenua District. This role sits within the Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) Highway Project and focuses on coordinating programme delivery for important stormwater drainage works. The position offers the chance to contribute to infrastructure that will improve safety, resilience, efficiency, and travel choice for a growing region.
About the project
The Ō2NL highway project is delivered in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and Horowhenua District Council. The work is being delivered through a two-alliance model, with partners collaborating to create a lasting positive impact for the region. The project is guided by principles that emphasise care for the whenua and building an enduring legacy.
Key duties
- Keep the project’s baseline and target schedules up to date and controlled.
- Drive all programming activities with the wider project team, including short-term planning.
- Oversee monthly progress reporting and ensure outputs are delivered on time.
- Administer the systems and software used for programme management.
- Work closely with programme-related stakeholders across the project.
- Escalate schedule risks and emerging issues to the Construction Manager.
- Support Zero Harm initiatives and contribute to quality assurance practices.
What you need
- A tertiary qualification in engineering or a similar discipline, or an equivalent level of industry experience.
- Proven background in delivering infrastructure projects.
- Sound working knowledge of planning and scheduling tools, including Primavera P6 or similar software.
- Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Leadership skills with a clear focus on safety, sustainability, and innovation.
