Job description

About the Company

B&D Group, part of DuluxGroup, is a leading provider of garage door solutions and technology. Established in 1956, the business has helped protect homes and families for decades and has manufactured more than 5 million garage doors across the world.

The organisation places strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and the well-being of its people. It values continuous improvement, fresh thinking, and a culture where team members are encouraged to question the usual way of doing things, keep learning, and contribute meaningfully. Support, flexibility, growth, and work-life balance are central to how the company operates.

Role Overview

This is a full-time opportunity for a dependable, hands-on person to join the Christchurch production team in an assembly-line role. The shift runs in the afternoon from Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm to 12:00am, and Friday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Overtime may be available on Saturdays depending on business needs.

The position is well suited to someone who is self-driven, practical, and ready to work hard. Full training will be provided, with the chance to learn from an experienced quality-focused team and develop into an important contributor within the production function.

You will be involved in assembling components and hardware for sectional garage doors used in residential and industrial settings. The work is physically active and varied, and you will collaborate closely with a supportive and knowledgeable team. This is a safety-first environment, so PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and helmets when required must be worn.

Reliability, a positive attitude, attention to safety, and a willingness to stay engaged throughout a busy workday are essential to doing well in this role.

What We Offer

  • Life insurance, total permanent disability cover, and health insurance support
  • Special pricing on DuluxGroup products and partner deals
  • Employer KiwiSaver contribution of up to 4% of salary
  • 20 weeks of paid leave for primary carers and 2 weeks for partners
  • Strong learning, development, and career progression opportunities
  • Access to a wellbeing hub plus full EAP assistance
  • Recognition initiatives that acknowledge your contribution

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who takes pride in accurate work, communicates well, and can remain committed to health and safety expectations. You should be comfortable with physical work, able to lift up to 20kg safely, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team. A dependable, self-starting approach is important for success in this role.
