Production Specialist - Front Office

Role overview

NatWest Group is hiring an experienced Production Specialist to help run and support front office production platforms. The position focuses on maintaining stability, availability, and resilience in line with what the business expects. You will work in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and partner with global platform and domain teams to keep the platform robust and reliable.

This is a practical, hands-on role supporting trading platforms across FX and FI, including e-trading platforms. You will be part of a global follow-the-sun support setup, with Singapore coverage starting at 6:00 am SGT. The role involves direct interaction with Trading and Sales teams to resolve urgent technical and business issues.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incident and problem management activities to maintain strong production stability and service quality.
• Provide application management and application support, including any locally requested business enhancements.
• Monitor system health ahead of the APAC business day to detect issues early and reduce business impact.
• Work as a hands-on SRE, contributing to automation, reduced manual effort, improved observability, and other strategic engineering initiatives.
• Partner with platform teams on upcoming changes and assist with rollouts, including weekend implementations when required.
• Support the organisation’s cloud transformation efforts.
• Analyse recurring incidents, service issues, and stakeholder feedback to identify and drive service improvements.
• Lead regional and global delivery by working closely with the front office business to understand and translate business needs into delivery outcomes.
• Be prepared to work from the office at least three days each week.

Skills and experience

• Deep, practical experience of at least 10 years supporting trading platforms, including complex electronic trading environments.
• At least 5 years of experience working directly on the trading floor with front office teams.
• Strong coding and scripting ability in Python, Java, and SQL.
• Solid automation and troubleshooting skills across UNIX and Windows environments.
• Hands-on use of observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Corvil, Splunk, and Geneos.
• Exposure to newer technologies, including cloud platforms and artificial intelligence.
• Good understanding of FX and FI markets, including pricing, trading, risk management, and products such as spot, forwards, options, NDFs, bonds, and swaps.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Desirable: technical certifications in areas such as GCP, RPA, Python, and related technologies.
• Desirable: proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.

Additional information

This role is based in Singapore and is classified as an onsite full-time position. The support model begins with Singapore coverage at 6:00 am SGT as part of a global follow-the-sun arrangement.
