Role Overview

The Production Scheduler - MCB role is centered on turning the master production plan into a practical one- to four-week schedule for the plant, while matching it with available manufacturing capacity. The position is responsible for balancing daily production through capacity and constraint analysis to improve throughput, reduce cycle time and inventory, and support on-time delivery targets. The role also requires close coordination with several internal teams, including Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Purchasing.

In addition, the scheduler monitors the Repairs SIOP file and upcoming demand forecasts, along with Aftermarket Repairs BOS metrics. The role uses the Kinaxis tool to manage exception messages and revenue risks, and relies on TOM meetings to identify critical materials and feed them into the planning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work-in-progress by reviewing reports, cross-functional inputs, and the critical ratio tool.
  • Set and prioritize resource use across the factory, including shared resources, to improve efficiency and keep material moving so customer ship dates are met.
  • Coordinate with SCM planners on daily parts and material availability, then determine dates and actions needed to meet or exceed delivery commitments through planning or exchange offerings.
  • Stay in regular contact with teams such as Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Purchasing.
  • Help design and roll out methods and procedures that strengthen the scheduling function.
  • Take an active role in continuous improvement initiatives and support standard work practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP.

Skills and Competencies

  • Hands-on understanding of complex machined materials management.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems.
  • Experience with MFG Pro is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization, including customers, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and drive action-oriented results.
  • Skill in spotting improvement opportunities and turning them into measurable annual impact.
  • Change management capability is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay and a benefits package.
  • Engaging work on challenging projects in a collaborative team setting.
  • Support for internal advancement whenever possible.
