Role Overview

An opportunity is open for a Production Operator on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Cork. The position is based on a shift pattern within a 24/5 manufacturing site. The role involves running process equipment and supporting manufacturing activities to GMP expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow quality standards and work in line with GMP requirements.
  • Use the correct SOPs for both the equipment and the plant.
  • Read and follow the production schedule, manufacture order, and work instructions.
  • Prepare the area by checking schedule alignment, site readiness, and supply accuracy such as codes, lot numbers, expiry dates, and FIFO compliance.
  • Complete pre-production tasks including material supply and batch paperwork.
  • Carry out manufacturing steps, identification, and post-production activities such as container sealing.
  • Operate process equipment including Nano Mill, Niro Granulation, Sifting and Blending, Tabletting, Coating, Sorting/Metal Detection, 100% Inspection, Dispensing Equipment, Gral/Niro, Fitzmill and Sweco Sieve, Glatt Coating, and Encapsulation.
  • Work to OEE expectations for cycle time and changeover time across all processes.
  • Maintain batch records in step with production and ensure all checks are completed before moving to the next stage.
  • Perform in-process testing, compare results against quality standards, record deviations, notify the Team Leader or Supervisor, and apply corrections where required.
  • Complete quality control documentation accurately.
  • Collect and document samples requested by the Quality Control Lab, ensuring proper identification and removal.
  • Support the safety of people and goods by following safety rules and escalating incidents or concerns.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in production methods and systems while maintaining a strong brand image.
  • Maintain hygiene standards, report malfunctions, share useful instructions with colleagues, and keep the workplace clean and orderly.
  • Present yourself neatly and behave in a responsible manner.

Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate is the minimum educational requirement.
  • Interest in, or knowledge of, process equipment and manufacturing is preferred.
  • Comfort using MS Word, MS Excel, and email.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
