About the role
Kerry is hiring a Production Operative for its team in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. This is a permanent, full-time position with 12-hour shifts on a rotating days-and-nights pattern.
Work location
You will be based at Kerry’s Omagh site, where the team produces products for a range of brands, including ice creams, cream and cream alternatives, custards, and yoghurt beverages. The site employs around 90 people and offers onsite parking, a canteen, and a free ice cream machine. It is also conveniently located near the A5/A32 and bus stops, approximately a 5-minute walk away.
What the role involves
- Operating on the production line in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Spotting production problems, taking action where possible, and escalating them promptly.
- Checking incoming materials to confirm they meet required standards.
- Verifying that materials and the production line are ready before work starts.
- Preparing production lines and carrying out product or process changeovers as per SOPs.
- Making sure safety measures, hygiene requirements, equipment, tools, and other resources are set up and available for production.
- Accurately entering and gathering operational information in SAP.
- Passing products to the next stage of the process once ready.
- Completing autonomous maintenance tasks when needed.
- Performing quality checks and documenting the results correctly.
What you’ll need
The successful candidate is expected to bring manufacturing experience, preferably from a production setting, along with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong English communication skills are essential, as are good written, verbal, and numerical abilities. You should also be comfortable diagnosing issues, solving problems, and adapting flexibly to support different production tasks.
