Role overview
This position is based in Dundalk, Ireland and reports to the Production Manager. The Production Co-Ordinator will help guide and coordinate production teams, with ownership of planning and managing manufacturing workflows.
The role calls for strong capability in production operations, people leadership, team development, managing change, technical understanding, and driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Production Manager with project planning, execution, and day-to-day oversight of production activities.
- Help ensure products are manufactured efficiently, effectively, and within required timelines.
- Evaluate project needs and resource requirements.
- Make sure all site-related requirements are completed and properly addressed.
- Escalate any extra production requests or associated costs to the Production Manager.
- Assist with recruitment activities for production staff.
- Help coordinate smooth handovers and task transitions.
- Oversee employee performance, ensuring behaviour and discipline standards are consistently upheld.
- Review and approve probationary periods for production employees.
- Track absence and punctuality levels within the production team and support any related performance or disciplinary steps.
- Manage Team Leaders effectively, including leave, absences, and flexibility planning so production output is not interrupted.
- Monitor Team Leaders’ workloads, performance, and reporting responsibilities to the Production Manager.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed by everyone at all times.
- Maintain strong health and safety standards across the site.
- Work with the Production Team and Health & Safety team to help maintain the Anord Mardix facility.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should bring solid experience in production management and people leadership, along with the ability to handle deadlines and multi-priority demands in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and sheet metal work would be an advantage. Knowledge of control systems and the ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings are also important.
Applicants should understand relevant health and safety regulations, be highly organised, work independently, use initiative, and remain confident under pressure. Strong proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel is required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
