Job description

Role overview

The Product Data Analyst will dig into complex datasets, investigate unclear business questions, and turn findings into practical recommendations that inform product and company decisions. The position blends SQL-driven analysis, introductory Python for exploration and automation, and the creation of dashboards and reports that make raw data easier to understand and use.

Work location

This is a hybrid role with a regular in-office rhythm of three days per week. Candidates must live within commuting distance of the Vienna, Virginia office. This is not a fully remote position.

What you'll do

  • Explore datasets to resolve open-ended questions and uncover trends, irregularities, and actionable insights.
  • Build and run advanced SQL queries to pull, inspect, and verify information from relational databases.
  • Create simple Python scripts to support analysis, clean data, and automate repetitive processing tasks.
  • Research data sources, data structures, and cross-system inconsistencies to better understand the underlying information.
  • Develop and update dashboards and reports in Tableau or similar SQL-based reporting tools.
  • Present analytical conclusions through concise summaries and visual formats that stakeholders can easily use.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to define metrics, confirm data accuracy, and support data-informed decisions.

Required background

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline. The role calls for 2 to 3 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence, solid SQL skills for working with large relational datasets, and hands-on exposure to Tableau or another data visualization platform. Familiarity with Python libraries such as pandas or NumPy is expected, along with strong analytical thinking, the ability to break down ambiguous problems, and clear written and verbal communication for non-technical audiences. Experience in healthcare technology or another regulated industry would be an advantage.
