About the Role
The position seeks an experienced Procurement Specialist to enhance Upstream Operations by managing comprehensive procurement, sourcing, and contract administration processes. This role collaborates closely with operational and project teams to devise sourcing plans, negotiate contract terms, oversee supplier performance, and maximize supply chain value.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong commercial insight, proficient contract management skills, and the capability to achieve procurement results that ensure safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end procurement, sourcing, and contracting processes for designated operational categories.
- Formulate and apply category and sourcing strategies that deliver value, mitigate commercial risks, and fulfill business needs.
- Lead competitive tendering, supplier assessments, and commercial negotiations.
- Develop procurement strategies, tender documents, commercial evaluations, and contracts award proposals.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures, enhance value, and improve procedural efficiency.
- Manage contracts supporting Upstream Operations including negotiation of terms balancing risk and value.
- Oversee contract lifecycle tasks such as renewals, amendments, claims handling, and closure.
- Maintain high standards of contract documentation including value tracking, terms compliance, guarantees, and claims management.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of procurement and contract data in relevant systems.
- Forge and sustain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor, review, and improve supplier performance based on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and service metrics.
- Provide commercial support and procurement guidance to business units and projects.
- Ensure that procurement practices align with company policies, supply chain standards, delegated authority limits, and Joint Venture agreements.
- Support governance initiatives, contract reporting, and ongoing process enhancements.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of professional experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management, or a related commercial function.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector or an equivalent industrial setting.
- Proven track record managing tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with SAP and/or Coupa procurement software.
- Capability to manage multiple contracts and diverse stakeholder groups concurrently.
- Strong skills in commercial analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Preferred qualifications include a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar fields.
