Job description

Role overview

This is a daytime process technician position based in Galway, Ireland, supporting advanced manufacturing within the medical technology sector. The role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and wants to contribute to the production of life-saving medical devices while working in a collaborative environment.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment faults, carry out corrective actions, complete preventive maintenance tasks, and route more complex issues to Engineering or Maintenance when needed.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to analyse and address scrap and yield losses caused by equipment or process-related issues.
  • Support a small technician team of around six people, working across three to four core production processes alongside production core teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work in internal systems and prepare yield updates using PowerPoint; handle shift handovers through Teams and Excel.
  • Use SQL-based databases to access and work with equipment data; training on the system will be provided.
  • Carry out all duties with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and product quality.

Skills and attributes

  • Strong analytical thinking and fault-finding ability.
  • Useful background in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems, including SQL.

Ideal background

This position is best suited to candidates with experience in technical troubleshooting, maintenance, or manufacturing support. Previous exposure to medical device manufacturing would be an advantage, but it is not mandatory.
