Job description

Role Overview

This position is for a Process Engineer at Tata Electronics in Mayang, Assam. The role focuses on end-of-line process support, process development, quality improvement, and cross-functional coordination in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bring strong working knowledge of end-of-line processes and related equipment used for molding, laser marking, trimming, and forming.
  • Guide and train teams on structured problem-solving methods, including the 7 QC tools, basic SPC, yield analysis using analytics, sampling plans, 8D, DMAIC, process mapping, poka-yoke, lean manufacturing, DOE, and FMEA.
  • Use SPC tools such as Minitab or JMP, which would be considered an added advantage.
  • Develop, improve, and implement production processes while maintaining the required quality standards.
  • Keep process documentation accurate and current, including changes, updates, and compliance-related records.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, and NPI teams to build and roll out SOPs that support stable operations.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is typically expected.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in assembly engineering within the semiconductor industry is required.
