Reporting to the Engagement Manager and working functionally with the Global Director, Risk Solutions, you will partner with clients and project teams across regions to improve risk management across portfolios, capital projects, and operations. The role is aimed at reducing uncertainty in cost and schedule, improving predictability, and supporting stronger project outcomes. You will also help grow the global Risk Management Practice and strengthen its impact within the AIM region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build productive working relationships with clients, pursuit and engagement leaders, and business unit and business practice directors.
  • Create tailored risk management plans for individual projects.
  • Organize and run risk workshops and formal risk reviews.
  • Lead quantitative analysis of cost and schedule risk.
  • Facilitate hazard and safety studies, including HAZAN, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead decision analysis and value engineering sessions.
  • Keep the project risk register current, accurate, and complete, ensuring risk actions are tracked through to closure.
  • Support teams in carrying out qualitative and quantitative risk assessments and preparing practical risk treatment plans aligned with organizational standards and strategy.
  • Provide managers with timely updates on risk status, triggers, treatment effectiveness, and recovery actions when plans are not delivering expected results.
  • Train engagement and business unit teams on risk management processes and procedures.
  • Review how effective risk management practices are across the organization and advise leadership on improvements.
  • Contribute to risk procedures, functional guides, and other internal tools.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing networks and collaborative forums.
  • Support business development, proposal preparation, and client engagement at local and global levels.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary qualification from a recognized university, preferably in engineering or business.
  • Professional credentials in risk or project management are preferred, such as CRM, PMI-RMP, GARP, or PMP; an MBA or PhD is an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of experience in risk management, including workshop facilitation with large groups, leadership of hazard study workshops, and technical analysis methods such as LOPA, SIL, and machine guarding.
  • Process Safety Management or Process Safety Engineering background or certification is considered a plus.
  • Strong command of international risk standards such as ISO 31000, ISO 31010, IEC 62198, PRAM, and PMI.
  • Deep understanding of the risk management process and how to adapt it to client and project needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of bow-tie analysis and related software.
  • Experience with quantitative cost and schedule models, including tools like @Risk, Safran, and PRA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and familiarity with modern risk information systems such as Predict!, CURA, and ARM.
  • Solid grasp of project management, cost estimating, and project scheduling methods and tools.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; an additional language such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Chinese is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage the risk programs of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Comfort working to tight deadlines and responding quickly to unplanned risk activities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to prepare reports and presentations effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to Hatch offices or project sites, sometimes extensively and on short notice.
  • Self-driven, analytical, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
