What the role involves

The technician will help maintain continuous plant operation by monitoring turbine systems and other Balance of Plant equipment, performing frontline maintenance support, and assisting with controlled plant release for scheduled work. The position requires coordination across the field, Permit Office, and Central Control Room, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and effective communication with the Team Leader and maintenance teams.

Key duties

  • Follow Quality, EHS, and operational procedures to maintain full compliance and minimize risk.
  • Spot abnormal operating conditions, take corrective action from the control room or field, and keep the plant aligned with PPA and grid requirements.
  • Carry out field rounds, support routine equipment upkeep, and assist with testing to protect reliability.
  • Work with grid and station leadership by following dispatch instructions, escalating issues to the Shift Supervisor, and maintaining accurate logs, schedules, and operational records.
  • After training, help with LOTO and plant release activities so maintenance can be carried out safely.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and operational risks, then report them promptly to protect people and assets.
