Position Summary

Mobco Construction is hiring a seasoned Planning Manager to take charge of project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control functions across major construction assignments. In this role, you will build and maintain project timelines, support resource coordination, track delivery performance, and help project teams meet approved time and budget targets.

The role is suited to a Civil Engineer with at least 12 years of hands-on experience in construction planning and project controls. Strong exposure to hospitality work and large-scale projects within respected contracting firms is essential. Applicants must already be located in Saudi Arabia and be highly proficient in Primavera P6 and standard project scheduling practices.

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Create detailed baseline construction schedules in Primavera P6.
  • Set up work breakdown structures, key milestones, critical paths, and execution plans for projects.
  • Build both short-range and long-range schedules in collaboration with project teams.
  • Prepare recovery and acceleration plans when delays arise.
  • Make sure all schedules reflect contractual commitments and project deliverables.

Project Monitoring & Control

  • Track actual progress against approved schedules and flag any variances.
  • Carry out critical path reviews and assess the effect of schedule changes.
  • Monitor project performance and alert teams early to risks and possible delays.
  • Review productivity levels and propose corrective steps to improve delivery.
  • Ensure progress is measured and reported accurately throughout all phases of the work.

Reporting & Management Support

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress updates, dashboards, S-curves, and executive slides.
  • Present planning findings and schedule analysis to senior leaders and project stakeholders.
  • Develop forecasts for project completion and future performance.
  • Support client meetings, project reviews, and management presentations with schedule-related inputs.

Resource & Cost Coordination

  • Work with project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to support efficient resource allocation.
  • Assist with planning manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Help cost control teams with schedule-based forecasts and productivity analysis.
  • Monitor how resources are being used and suggest ways to improve efficiency.

Risk Management

  • Identify scheduling risks and develop plans to reduce their impact.
  • Perform delay analysis and evaluate the effect of variations and changes on the schedule.
  • Support claim preparation for extension of time, delays, and disruptions.
  • Maintain risk logs and follow up on mitigation actions.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate planning matters with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure planning activities remain aligned with project needs and contractual obligations.
  • Take part in project meetings and advise leadership on planning-related issues.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and bring a minimum of 12 years of experience in construction planning and project controls. A background with leading contracting firms is preferred. Strong experience in hospitality developments, including hotels, resorts, mixed-use projects, and luxury hospitality facilities, is required, along with exposure to mega-scale construction work. Applicants must currently be based in Saudi Arabia. Professional certifications in planning or project management will be considered an added advantage.
