Role Overview

Chanakya University is looking for a Placement Officer to lead campus placement efforts, strengthen employer partnerships, and support students through the full placement journey. The role focuses on building industry relationships, coordinating hiring drives, preparing students for recruitment, and improving placement processes through data and feedback.

Industry Engagement

Develop and maintain relationships with companies by bringing professionals on campus for guest lectures and creating hands-on learning opportunities for students.
Engage with business leaders and HR teams to share details about the institution, student profile, academic strengths, and teaching approach to generate hiring interest.
Use industry partnerships to secure live projects and assignments that add practical exposure to the curriculum.
Create presentations and reports highlighting the institution, its academics, student strengths, and the value proposition for recruiters.
Set up meetings with corporate organizations and present relevant information to business and HR decision-makers.
Gather details about each company’s recruitment process and hiring procedures.

Pre-Placement Preparation

Work with recruiting companies to finalize and confirm placement drive dates.
Adapt pre-placement communication and preparation content for students based on the recruiter’s industry and business model.
Organize focus group discussions and mock interviews that match the recruiter’s sector and hiring style.

Placement Drive Coordination

Manage the complete planning and execution of placement and internship drives.
Liaise with company representatives and handle all required arrangements.
Ensure recruitment rooms are assigned properly and equipped as requested by participating companies.
Support students in attending off-campus placement drives.
Coordinate with recruiters on appointment letters and acceptance letters for selected students.
Build and maintain a platform for both pre-placement and campus placement opportunities.

Student Support

Keep students informed about available job openings and recruitment opportunities during the placement season.
Share information about external placement drives and hiring events beyond the college.
Explain the interview process and selection steps followed by each company.
Work with faculty members to arrange placement training sessions and mock practice rounds for students.

Institutional Coordination

Work with IACPE to identify priority areas for student skill building and collaborate with the Alumni Association to connect students with industry experts for training, internships, and recruitment opportunities.
Secure support from all HOIs for the proposed placement initiatives.
Integrate placement processes and related practices into the formal academic calendar.
Help teaching staff understand the importance and structure of placement procedures.
Ensure faculty members are actively involved in preparing students through subject support and mock recruitment activities.

Placement Process Improvement

Create a continuous review system to monitor, evaluate, and improve placement operations and decisions.
Use dashboards and reports to track progress on placement-related initiatives.
Set up a regular feedback mechanism for students and company representatives to share inputs on placement activities.

Experience Required

The position requires at least 8 years of relevant experience.
