Job description
About the role
This opportunity is for an accomplished Personal Assistant to support a private principal with a blend of personal and executive responsibilities. The position is high-trust, highly discreet, and fast moving, with duties covering business commitments, household and family logistics, travel, daily lifestyle coordination, and other ad hoc support.
The person in this role will need to stay organised, professional, polished, and proactive, while being comfortable with shifting priorities and a pace that can change quickly. It is an on-site role rather than a remote one, and the preferred candidate should already be based in the Washington, DC area or be genuinely willing to relocate.
This role is best suited to someone who has previously supported a senior executive, entrepreneur, family office principal, private household, public figure, or similarly high-profile individual, and who understands the importance of discretion, sound judgement, responsiveness, and excellent follow-through.
What you will do
- Provide daily personal and executive assistance to the principal.
- Oversee a packed calendar that combines both private and professional commitments.
- Arrange meetings, appointments, reservations, family-related logistics, and personal engagements.
- Coordinate domestic and international travel, including itineraries, ground transport, accommodation, and backup planning.
- Work with household staff, vendors, service providers, and outside contacts as needed.
- Support errands, purchases, gifting, research tasks, and other ad hoc requests.
- Prepare briefing notes, reminders, agendas, and background materials when required.
- Draft correspondence and assist with communication where appropriate.
- Monitor follow-ups, deadlines, priorities, and action items.
- Help with events, celebrations, family occasions, and private arrangements.
- Stay ahead of needs, handle issues quickly, and make sure every detail is managed to a high standard.
- Protect strict confidentiality in all personal, family, and business matters.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, Private PA, Chief of Staff, family office, private household, or similarly senior support position.
- A strong sense of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Composure under pressure and confidence in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Strong presence and communication skills when dealing with senior contacts, private staff, vendors, and external partners.
- A proactive, resourceful approach with the ability to anticipate needs before being asked.
- Flexibility and responsiveness, including comfort with a role that is not a standard 9 to 5.
- Ability to handle both personal and professional matters comfortably.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort using calendars, email, documents, spreadsheets, and digital communication tools.
- Valid driving capability with reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the country and internationally.
Compensation and benefits
The salary for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000, based on experience and overall fit.
Benefits include healthcare, paid time off, company-provided device(s), reimbursement of business expenses, and the possibility of a performance-linked bonus.
