Job description
Role Overview
A major construction project is looking for a Permit to Work (PTW) Officer to oversee permit control and site safety for civil and structural works. The role requires strong supervision experience in civil engineering and construction, along with hands-on exposure to GCC projects, ideally in oil and gas or petrochemical settings.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering is required.
- The candidate must possess a valid Oryx GTL PTW2 Card.
- A solid supervisory track record in civil engineering and construction is essential.
- At least 5 years of GCC experience in a supervisory or PTW role is needed, preferably in oil and gas or petrochemical environments.
- Availability for a mandatory in-person interview is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the full permit-to-work process for all civil and structural activities on site, from initiation through closure.
- Carry out job safety analyses and risk reviews before permits are issued, making sure hazards are identified and controlled according to Oryx GTL procedures.
- Serve as the main civil supervisor at site, ensuring compliance with safety rules, approved drawings, and permit conditions.
- Work closely each day with HSE teams, site engineers, and client representatives to obtain clearances and avoid work interruptions.
- Lead daily toolbox talks to update civil crews on permit requirements, site risks, and emergency response steps.
Additional Requirements
- The candidate must currently be in Qatar and hold a valid QID.
- Immediate joining is required.
