Job description

About Sozio

Sozio, established in 1758, is a French fragrance creation house known for handcrafted expertise and a strong focus on natural and responsible perfumery. With operations across Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East, the company develops fragrances for fine perfumery, cosmetics, home care, and detergent products.

Role Overview

As the Middle East business grows, Sozio is hiring a Perfumer Analyst to join the Dubai-based creation team. In this position, you will work at the crossroads of fragrance development, analytical science, and quality control, helping ensure that fragrance formulas for the region are accurate, consistent, and compliant.

This opportunity is open to international applicants, and relocation support to Dubai may be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine fragrance formulas and interpret them using GC and GC-MS analytical methods.
  • Detect and measure raw materials in compositions to support formula duplication, reformulation, and quality checks.
  • Use analytical findings to support fragrance formula creation and contribute to creative development work.
  • Oversee the upkeep, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of GC-MS equipment in coordination with the other Perfumer Analyst.
  • Help maintain and refresh the GC-MS library.
  • Track technical and regulatory updates related to raw materials and analytical tools.
  • Offer analytical and technical input for formula improvement and creative interpretation.
  • Develop or modify fragrance formulas based on analytical data and client briefs for Air Care, Personal Care, Home Care, and Fine Fragrance categories.
  • Take part in sensory assessments and olfactive panels that support creation work.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve technical and quality issues affecting fragrance formulations.
  • Participate in internal presentations and client-facing presentations when required.

Profile

The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry with a specialization or background in perfumery, along with experience in fragrance formulation or analytical chemistry. You should have 3 to 5 years of experience in an analytical fragrance lab or with a fragrance manufacturer.

Strong knowledge of chromatographic and spectrometric methods, especially GC and GC-MS, is essential. A solid grasp of fragrance structure, olfactive terminology, and formulation principles is also important.

We are looking for someone who is precise, systematic, naturally curious scientifically, and strong in organization and problem-solving. Good communication and teamwork skills are needed, along with comfort working in a multicultural environment.

English fluency is required. French or Arabic would be an advantage.

What We Offer

  • The chance to join an independent fragrance house with rapid growth and a strong global footprint.
  • A rare role that blends analytical work with creative fragrance development.
  • A lively multicultural workplace in an active regional market.
  • Close cooperation with creation and analytical teams in France, the USA, and Asia.
  • A strategic position connecting science and artistry in fragrance creation.
