Job description

About the company

Secretlab is a global gaming chair brand used by more than three million people across the world. Its main markets are the United States, Europe, and Singapore, where the company is headquartered.

The organisation is built around its people. It is looking for a commercially minded People Operations Manager to lead a small group of associates and specialists and establish the operational backbone for its workforce across the region.

The People team plays a key role in keeping Secretlab’s employees ready to perform at a top level across major initiatives, including collaborations with well-known brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, and international esports organisers like Riot Games for League of Legends global tournaments.

People Operations team leadership

  • Guide, coach, and plan capacity for a compact People Operations team while promoting a culture of zero errors, punctual delivery, and strong ownership.
  • Create service-level expectations for employee queries so that questions from any level, from junior staff to directors, are handled quickly, accurately, and with empathy.
  • Take responsibility for operational excellence across the function, including process improvements, better tools, and stronger systems.
  • Act as a guardian of Secretlab’s culture and organisational values.

HRBP partnership and performance operations

  • Manage the operational side of performance review cycles, including system setup and schedule coordination, so HR business partners can concentrate on calibration and feedback quality.
  • Support sensitive employee relations investigations from an administrative and logistical standpoint, including evidence collection, timeline reconstruction, note-taking, and documentation of procedural fairness. HRBPs and Legal lead the inquiry itself.
  • Serve as a key data source for the HRBP team by analysing trends in attrition, absenteeism, and performance ratings to support strategic discussions with business leaders.

Policy, compliance, and legal coordination

  • Work with Legal and Compliance on employee handbooks and employment agreements.
  • Turn complex legal guidance into clear internal processes that can be put into practice.
  • Review agreements, processes, systems, and daily practices regularly to keep them aligned with changing business risks and statutory obligations.

Regional payroll and financial control

  • Oversee monthly payroll for three entities, ensuring pay is processed correctly and on time, along with tax filings and social security contributions.
  • Use commercial judgement to review payroll data, program costs, benefits usage, and travel expenses in order to spot waste and recommend savings.

Mobility, travel, and spend management

  • Own the corporate travel policy, balancing cost control with employee safety while negotiating corporate vendor rates and checking travel claims against budget.
  • Lead end-to-end management of employee visas, travel, and relocation so immigration-related issues do not slow business operations.

Requirements

  • Between 5 and 8 years of experience in People Operations or shared services, including at least 3 years in people management.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices across Asia, plus familiarity with digital HR platforms and systems.
  • Business-level Mandarin for working with Chinese employees and vendors.
  • Background supporting HR business partners and talent acquisition teams in a matrix environment.
  • Good commercial judgement, with the ability to weigh compliance needs against practical business realities.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
