Job description

About the Company

The organization is developing an AI-driven operating system for healthcare, designed to shape how care is delivered, documented, and funded. Its platform supports the full care journey with ambient AI and dictation tools that reduce documentation work, intelligent agents that automate patient and revenue workflows, and autonomous revenue cycle management that processes billions in claims on one AI-native platform connected with 60+ EHR systems.

Healthcare’s administrative burden is estimated at $1 trillion, and the company sits at the center of efforts to reduce it. More than 500,000 clinicians at 500+ healthcare organizations across the country rely on its platform to manage over $25B in annual claims and more than 200 million patient interactions. A recent $70M fundraise at a $7B valuation highlights the market’s belief in the mission.

The team works closely with clinicians and favors direct impact over layers of process. Work moves quickly, deployment happens daily, and ownership runs from early problem-solving through production. This role is suited to someone who enjoys complex challenges, high expectations, and a fast-moving environment.

Role Overview

The People Operations Generalist will support a broad range of HR and people operations work, with responsibility across the employee lifecycle, payroll and benefits coordination, HRIS data management, compliance support, and employee experience. The role requires strong organization, discretion, and the ability to manage high-volume operational work accurately.

Employee Lifecycle and HR Operations

  • Handle day-to-day HR operations covering onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, documentation, and employee records.
  • Coordinate a smooth new hire experience, including pre-start planning, first-day setup, document collection, and follow-up after start.
  • Manage offboarding tasks such as system changes, equipment coordination, and employee communication.
  • Work with HR business partners to prepare termination-related materials, including confidential exit guides and severance package coordination.
  • Conduct exit interviews and capture key takeaways.
  • Keep employee data current in Rippling and other people systems.
  • Create and update HR documents, process guides, templates, and internal employee communications.
  • Respond to employee questions and direct issues to the right resource when escalation is required.
  • Stay organized while handling a large volume of process-driven HR tasks with confidentiality and accuracy.

Payroll, Benefits, and Leave Support

  • Partner with payroll on employee changes, data accuracy, and payroll-related questions.
  • Provide administrative support for benefits, 401(k), PTO, leave policies, and common employee questions.
  • Act as a contact point for employees and vendors, including Sparrow for leave administration.
  • Support benefits paperwork, employee communication, and recurring administrative workflows.
  • Own the intake process for leave and accommodation requests, handling sensitive matters carefully and escalating when needed.

HRIS, Reporting, and Process Improvement

  • Support reporting, audits, employee data updates, and recurring HR processes.
  • Look for manual processes that can be documented, improved, or automated.
  • Build and maintain trackers, checklists, templates, and workflows that improve team efficiency.
  • Assist with basic people reporting such as headcount, turnover, onboarding status, offboarding status, and compliance tracking.
  • Help refine existing workflows where ownership or documentation is unclear.
  • Use AI tools to reduce manual work and create better operational workflows.

Compliance and Immigration Coordination

  • Support HR compliance administration for federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Assist with audits, employee documentation, policy acknowledgments, and compliance monitoring.
  • Support I-9 and reverification activities, background checks, employment verification, and personnel file management.
  • Help ensure employee records and HR processes stay consistent, accurate, and well documented.

Culture and Employee Experience

  • Assist with employee engagement, recognition, and culture programs.
  • Provide responsive and helpful employee support while protecting confidentiality.
  • Improve the employee experience through clearer documentation, better processes, and consistent follow-through.

Experience and Background

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, HR coordination, or a related function.
  • Hands-on experience supporting the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, records, and employee inquiries.
  • Exposure to benefits, payroll coordination, leave administration, compliance tracking, or HR documentation.
  • Startup, high-growth, or fast-changing environment experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Rippling or another HRIS is preferred.
  • Immigration process support or work with immigration counsel is a plus.
  • Experience in a multi-state or global environment is a plus.

Skills and Working Style

  • Strong organization and ability to manage a large volume of administrative HR work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and dependable follow-through.
  • Clear, professional written communication.
  • Comfort with confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Good judgment and awareness of when escalation is needed.
  • Process-oriented mindset with an interest in improving how work is done.
  • Able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure for recurring tasks.
  • Strong service orientation and willingness to support wherever needed.

Why This Role May Be a Fit

  • You enjoy high-volume HR operations and administrative work.
  • You like being close to the details and making sure processes run correctly.
  • You are comfortable supporting employees, managers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • You take ownership and follow through without close supervision.
  • You care about accuracy, documentation, compliance, and employee experience.
  • You enjoy improving processes, cleaning up messy workflows, and building structure.
  • You want to grow within a fast-paced People function.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation approach is designed to be thoughtful and aligned with the person hired. The total rewards package includes meaningful equity, medical, dental, and vision coverage, unlimited PTO, and additional benefits.

Level and pay will be determined based on experience and performance during the interview process. The team is open to discussing its leveling and compensation approach with candidates.

The target cash compensation for this location is $125,000 to $145,000, with a stated compensation range of $125K to $145K.
