Job description

About the organisation

Our client is a respected, purpose-led organisation that has a meaningful role in helping its sector across Aotearoa. It works alongside professionals and leaders to strengthen capability and contribute to better outcomes.

The culture is collaborative and guided by values, with a strong focus on ongoing improvement, learning, and creating positive impact.

The role

This position is a great opportunity for an emerging HR professional to gain broad experience in a busy People & Culture Coordinator role.

As part of a supportive, high-performing team, you will help deliver day-to-day people operations across the employee lifecycle, while also contributing to projects that improve systems, processes, and the employee experience.

Key duties

  • Manage recruitment coordination, including arranging interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding to help ensure a smooth employee journey.
  • Keep systems, employee files, and reporting information accurate and up to date.
  • Serve as a first contact for employee questions and oversee the People & Culture inbox.
  • Help administer and coordinate recurring and periodic people processes.
  • Support health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives, including committee meetings and reporting requirements.
  • Take part in HR projects and continuous improvements to systems and workflows.
  • Help deliver employee communications related to People & Culture policies, procedures, and updates.

About you

To succeed in this role, you should bring a relevant HR qualification or equivalent hands-on experience, along with strong attention to detail and solid organisational ability.

You will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, and a proactive, resilient, and determined approach.

Confidence in building relationships and supporting stakeholders is important, as is an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an appreciation for te reo Māori and tikanga in the workplace.

A genuine commitment to working in a values-led environment is essential.

What’s on offer

  • A supportive team environment with strong mentoring and development.
  • Exposure to a broad mix of HR processes and projects.
  • Flexible working options, including work-from-home arrangements.
  • Wellbeing days and extra leave benefits.
  • Support for professional development to help advance your HR career.
  • A collaborative, purpose-driven workplace culture.
  • Bright, modern offices near the waterfront and railway station.
