This opportunity is with a respected global manufacturer known for its strong market standing, practical product range and focus on operational improvement. The business operates internationally, maintains a broad product portfolio and continues to invest in efficient systems and high-performing teams.
The role
You will step into a standalone Payroll Specialist position reporting to the HR Manager. The role owns payroll from start to finish for a workforce of around 600 people, covering both weekly and monthly pay cycles. It is a key position within payroll operations, working closely with Finance to maintain accuracy, compliance and timely reporting while managing the complexities of Awards and EBAs.
Key responsibilities
- Run payroll end to end for approximately 600 employees on weekly and monthly cycles
- Calculate and apply shift allowances, including correct deductions where required
- Interpret and work within complex Awards and EBAs
- Maintain strong payroll governance, compliance and data accuracy
- Partner with Finance on payroll tax, month-end processing and reporting
- Contribute to payroll process improvements and better system efficiency
- Use iChris where possible, along with internal time and attendance platforms
Experience and skills
- Demonstrated background in managing payroll from end to end
- Solid knowledge of Australian payroll law, Awards and EBAs
- Comfortable handling large payrolls in a busy environment
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Highly capable with Excel and reporting tools
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with multiple stakeholders
