Role Overview

For a large organization in Göttingen operating in advanced medical research and healthcare delivery, this position seeks a Payroll Specialist (w/m/d) through direct placement. The role is designed for someone who wants to apply payroll expertise in a new setting and contribute to the reliable digital handling of complex HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will manage the technical side of the monthly payroll run and help shape forward-looking approaches for digitally mapping complex personnel processes.
  • You will act as first-level support for payroll administrators and provide detailed guidance on system-related questions in the HCM environment.
  • You will oversee follow-up system tasks and ensure smooth coordination with public authorities and social insurance institutions.
  • You will carry out extensive system testing for new SAP functions and support their successful transition into live operations.
  • You will contribute to quality checks of payroll data while taking collective agreement specifics across different employee groups into account.
  • You will assist the internal customizing team with defining wage types and with organizing and assigning SAP authorizations.
  • You will help improve existing HR processes by working closely with the customer’s internal software development team.

Profile

  • You have completed further training as a certified HR specialist or as a state-certified business administrator with a focus on human resources.
  • Your background is strengthened by vocational training as a personnel services clerk or as an office management clerk.
  • You are confident using SAP PA and PY modules, along with standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • You bring solid knowledge of tax law and social insurance law to support accurate payroll for specialists, researchers, and student assistants.
  • You are able to learn new software topics independently and have a strong service mindset toward employees and internal clients.
  • You are familiar with contribution assessment ceilings and have additional basic knowledge of German labor law to handle cases in a legally compliant way.
  • You must have valid work authorization and a permanent place of residence in Germany for this position.
