Job description

About the company

Consultia Unternehmensgruppe has been advising demanding clients on commercial and tax matters for nearly two decades, both in Germany and internationally. With more than 40 employees across four locations, the firm develops tailored solutions for established mid-sized businesses.

What sets the company apart is the close integration of advisory work and digital workflows. By using fully digital processes, paperless operations, and modern tools, the team combines efficiency, sustainability, and a contemporary client experience that goes well beyond traditional tax advisory services.

As a DATEV pilot practice, the company is currently rolling out a self-developed ticket system and moving payroll processing to DATEV Personal, its most advanced cloud solution. This enables fully integrated, AI-supported digital services with seamless data exchange for clients. In addition, in-house employment-law specialists add extra value in payroll-related matters and strengthen the firm’s position in a market that is changing quickly.

Role overview

This is a modern payroll position in a fully digital environment. Instead of repetitive routine work, the role offers varied responsibilities and the opportunity to help shape the future of payroll processing through smarter workflows, process improvement, and client-focused support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process payroll and salary runs independently.
  • Serve as the contact person for clients on payroll tax and social security matters.
  • Support the continued development and automation of digital workflows.
  • Optionally assist with related accounting tasks where needed.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training, for example as a tax clerk or in a similar field, ideally with payroll experience.
  • Confident use of DATEV and MS Office.
  • Comfortable working in a digital, paperless environment.
  • Independent and dependable way of working.
  • Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Very good written and spoken German.

Benefits

  • Compensation above industry average, plus a 13th salary and company pension support.
  • Shared company goals with a collaborative rather than individualistic culture.
  • Cross-functional projects that connect different areas of expertise.
  • Clear career paths and transparent advancement opportunities.
  • Modern, attractive, and practical office space.
  • Strong team spirit, with a focus on cultural fit and regular team events.
  • Ongoing digital training and professional development.
  • High level of autonomy and trust in how work is organized.
  • Flexible working hours and home-office options for better work-life balance.
  • Highly digitized processes and tools designed for the future.

Application notes

Applicants are asked to provide a CV and relevant certificates in advance. A cover letter is welcome but not mandatory. The company is also open to answering any questions before the application is submitted.
