Role overview
Carrier is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its Global Payroll organization in Hyderabad. This is an individual contributor position focused on APAC payroll operations within a growing shared services environment. The role supports accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while helping build scalable global processes as business needs evolve.

What you will do
- Run complete payroll cycles for APAC locations such as Australia, India, and Singapore.
- Make sure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule, in line with local statutory and compliance rules.
- Review and reconcile time and attendance data and ensure it flows correctly into payroll systems.
- Work with HR, Finance, IT, external vendors, and other global stakeholders to support payroll delivery.
- Assist with payroll audits, statutory submissions, and compliance activities across APAC.
- Protect payroll data quality and follow data privacy and retention standards.
- Serve as a payroll SME for systems and processes such as SAP/GlobalView and ADP.
- Investigate payroll issues, identify root causes, and support resolution of discrepancies.
- Track payroll service metrics and contribute to KPI monitoring.
- Take part in process improvement and standardization initiatives.
- Keep up to date with APAC payroll laws and regulatory changes.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure service delivery stays aligned with expectations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Payroll certification is preferred, and India payroll certification is specifically preferred/required.
- 5 to 8 years of payroll experience in a multinational or shared services setup.
- Experience with SAP/GlobalView or similar payroll platforms is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of APAC payroll practices, including Australia, India, and Singapore.
- Advanced English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Practical experience handling end-to-end payroll processing.
- Solid understanding of time and attendance systems and payroll integration.
- Experience collaborating in global and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with third-party payroll vendors such as ADP.
- Good grasp of statutory compliance and payroll regulations.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure during payroll cycles.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
