Role overview
Elis is hiring an experienced Payroll Specialist to run the full payroll cycle for employees accurately and on schedule. The position is based at the head office in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, and reports to the Payroll Manager.

Working arrangement
This is a full-time onsite role with working days from Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities
- Manage weekly and monthly payroll runs from start to finish, ensuring each cycle is completed accurately and on time.
- Keep employee payroll details up to date, including new hires, exits, pay adjustments, benefits, deductions, and pension records.
- Ensure payroll activity follows Irish employment law, Revenue guidelines, and all related statutory obligations.
- Match payroll reports, control accounts, and statutory payment records, resolving any discrepancies found.
- Administer statutory leave and pay processes such as maternity, paternity, adoptive, parental, and sick leave payments where relevant.
- Support year-end payroll tasks and statutory reporting requirements.
- Handle employee payroll questions clearly, professionally, and within a timely turnaround.
- Work with HR, Finance, pension providers, and external payroll vendors as needed.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and management information for internal use.
- Assist with payroll audits and compliance checks.
- Look for opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.
- Safeguard sensitive information and operate in line with GDPR requirements.
Skills and experience
- At least 3 years of payroll experience.
- Solid knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements.
- Hands-on experience running payroll in Ireland.
- Experience with payroll software and HR information systems.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
- High level of numerical accuracy and close attention to detail.
- Good planning, organisation, and time management ability.
- Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion.
Desirable background
- IPASS qualification, or active progress toward certification.
- Experience in multi-site or multi-jurisdiction payroll settings.
- Previous involvement in payroll projects, system rollouts, or process improvement work.
