Role overview
Uniphar Group is looking for a highly organised Payroll Specialist to join its payroll function in CityWest. This is a permanent full-time position within a hybrid working setup. The role is vital to ensuring payroll is processed accurately, compliantly, and on time for around 3,500 employees across ROI and UK entities, while also supporting the wider goal of building a payroll centre of excellence.
You will report to the Head of Payroll and work closely with colleagues in HR, Finance, and other external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Run end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll cycles for designated ROI and UK business entities.
- Meet all statutory deadlines and ensure compliance with Revenue Real Time Reporting (RTR), NAERSA (MFF), and related obligations.
- Keep payroll information accurate by working with HR and Time & Attendance systems.
- Produce payroll general ledger reporting and complete balance sheet reconciliations for each payroll period.
- Support Finance and Tax teams with payroll reporting for both management and statutory requirements.
- Handle payroll changes throughout the employee lifecycle, including new starters, leavers, and amendments, using HRIS platforms.
- Communicate with outside organisations such as HMRC, courts, and pension providers when required.
- Help maintain Benefit-in-Kind compliance in line with company policies and local rules.
- Deal with employee payroll questions quickly, accurately, and professionally while meeting service level targets.
- Protect employee information by following GDPR requirements and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Contribute to a constructive, collaborative team culture and support the company’s values.
Required experience and skills
- At least 5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-jurisdiction setting.
- IPASS qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of ROI payroll processes.
- UK and/or EMEA payroll exposure is an advantage.
- Experience with Megapay is desirable.
- Excellent accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Clear communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Comfort with managing multiple deadlines in a busy environment.
- Proactive problem-solving approach.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Customer-focused attitude with a strong drive for service excellence.
About Uniphar
Uniphar Group is a fast-growing, diversified healthcare services business with a global presence and long-standing roots in Ireland. Since listing publicly in 2019, the company has expanded both organically and through strategic acquisitions, strengthening its international footprint. With more than 3,000 employees across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Mainland Europe, MENA, and the USA, Uniphar partners with pharma and medtech manufacturers to help improve patient access to medicines and treatments worldwide.
The business delivers outsourced and specialist services backed by long-term relationships with more than 200 well-known pharmaco-medical manufacturers across several regions, supported by digital technology and expert teams. Its operations are structured into three divisions: Uniphar Supply Chain & Retail, Uniphar Medtech, and Uniphar Pharma.
Culture and ways of working
Uniphar’s culture is built around four core principles: putting people first, showing entrepreneurial spirit through adaptability, commitment and resilience, working toward a shared purpose, and placing trust at the centre of how the company operates.
Because Uniphar is a global team, the role offers flexibility to be based in one of the company offices or to work from home. Some in-person meetings may be required at other locations, and occasional flexibility will be needed to work across different time zones. The organisation describes this as a progressive hybrid working model rather than a traditional 9-to-5 role.
Equal opportunity
Uniphar is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all candidates.
