Job description
Role overview
The Payroll & Rewards Officer will oversee payroll processing, employee compensation and benefits administration, payroll record management, regulatory compliance, and support for reward and recognition activities. The position is focused on making sure employees are paid correctly and on time while also contributing to compensation, benefits, and engagement initiatives.
Payroll administration
- Run the monthly payroll cycle accurately and within the assigned deadlines.
- Check and confirm attendance, leave balances, overtime, commissions, and allowances.
- Work out salaries, statutory and company deductions, bonuses, incentives, and end-of-service entitlements.
- Make sure payroll data stays accurate and aligned with company policies and UAE labour regulations.
- Partner with Finance to arrange payroll funding and salary payments.
- Compile payroll statements, reconciliation documents, and audit-related schedules.
- Keep payroll files and employee pay details updated and securely maintained.
- Process pay changes linked to transfers, promotions, salary revisions, and increments.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and close discrepancies quickly.
- Protect the confidentiality of all payroll-related information.
Compensation and rewards
- Assist with day-to-day administration of pay and benefit programmes.
- Maintain salary bands, grading structures, and compensation databases.
- Support salary benchmarking and market compensation reviews.
- Track internal pay fairness and consistency across roles.
- Help run annual salary review and bonus cycles.
- Prepare analytical reports and recommendations on compensation matters.
- Contribute to reward and recognition programme design and rollout.
- Support incentive schemes and performance-linked reward initiatives.
- Monitor and report on how well reward programmes are performing.
Benefits administration
- Administer employee benefits such as medical cover, life insurance, allowances, wellness programmes, and other company benefits.
- Manage employee enrolments and benefit changes.
- Coordinate with insurers and third-party vendors.
- Keep benefits records accurate and up to date.
- Support yearly benefits renewal activities.
UAE compliance and governance
- Ensure payroll operations meet UAE Labour Law, Wages Protection System (WPS) requirements, company rules, and internal control standards.
- Prepare and submit WPS files when needed.
- Assist with both internal and external payroll audits.
- Maintain compliance records and supporting payroll documentation.
- Stay informed about legal and regulatory updates that may affect payroll and rewards practices.
Reporting and analytics
- Produce routine payroll and compensation reports.
- Prepare HR metrics such as headcount, payroll cost, overtime, benefits usage, and reward programme statistics.
- Review payroll trends and suggest process or policy improvements.
- Support budgeting and workforce planning exercises.
