Position Overview

This role is for a meticulous and well-organized Payroll Officer based in Dubai, UAE. The position is responsible for handling payroll operations from start to finish for staff located across multiple regions. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in payroll processing, employee benefits administration, payroll reporting, and compliance coordination. A strong focus on precision, confidentiality, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment is essential, especially when supporting remote employees across different countries.

Payroll Processing

  • Run monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines for the full workforce.
  • Arrange salary payments through the Wages Protection System (WPS) in line with UAE requirements.
  • Review attendance, overtime, leave balances, deductions, commissions, and other payroll inputs before processing.
  • Confirm that payroll elements such as gratuity, leave salary, bonuses, and final settlements are computed correctly.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure payroll procedures follow UAE Labour Law, internal policies, and all statutory obligations.
  • Keep payroll records, employee files, and salary-related documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Work with HR and Finance on onboarding, offboarding, salary adjustments, and benefits updates.
  • Assist with payroll audits and provide the necessary reports and supporting documents.

Employee Support

  • Respond to employee payroll questions promptly and professionally.
  • Help prepare salary certificates, bank letters, and other payroll-related documents.
  • Protect the privacy and security of all payroll information at all times.

Reporting and Administration

  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliation summaries, and salary analysis reports for management.
  • Track payroll mismatches and resolve issues in a timely, proactive manner.
  • Support budgeting exercises and manpower cost analysis when needed.
  • Maintain payroll systems and ensure data remains accurate across HRMS platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a closely related discipline is required. The role calls for 2 to 4 years of payroll experience, preferably gained in the UAE. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of UAE Labour Law, WPS, and payroll compliance. Experience with payroll software and HRMS systems is needed, along with solid Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with payroll reporting.
