What you will do
In this payroll position, you will be responsible for delivering precise and timely payroll services for a nationwide workforce. The role is practical and hands-on, with responsibility for end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payroll processing, support for labour hire staff, and handling more complex award interpretation matters.
- Manage the full payroll cycle for weekly and fortnightly pay runs
- Carry out payroll checks, reconciliations, and compliance reviews
- Interpret awards and enterprise agreements, including pay changes and variations
- Set up new employees and keep personnel records accurate and current
- Process superannuation, leave, overpayments, and other payroll corrections
- Handle WorkCover reimbursement processing and statutory reporting requirements
- Support labour hire employees across the country with payroll matters
- Respond to payroll-related questions in a timely, accurate, and professional way
- Look for ways to make payroll procedures more efficient and effective
What you need to bring
You should have at least 2 years of payroll experience, along with a solid understanding of payroll legislation, tax requirements, superannuation, and award interpretation. This role suits someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working in fast-paced and high-volume environments, and confident using Excel. Experience with multiple payroll and HR systems, the ability to work to deadlines, and a proactive approach are important.
