Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Payroll Lead to join the Finance team in Singapore. In this role, you will safeguard the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of payroll data and processes while ensuring payroll is delivered on time. You will work closely with the Senior Manager, Payroll to keep the payroll operation running smoothly as the business expands across regions.

This position suits someone who enjoys taking ownership, working with cross-functional teams, and improving payroll operations in a fast-moving global environment. The role supports a large and growing international workforce and involves both day-to-day payroll execution and broader process development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full payroll cycle for more than 300 employees across international locations.
  • Handle payroll operations for offices in Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Indonesia, and Dubai.
  • Support payroll expansion into additional countries as the business grows, including testing and implementing new payroll systems.
  • Take ownership of payroll due diligence and integration work for possible acquisitions.
  • Partner closely with the Global People team to improve workflows and strengthen payroll systems and processes.
  • Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal control documentation.
  • Provide guidance and leadership across the organization when needed.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for transfer into the accounting system.
  • Coordinate with tax authorities and local payroll vendors to resolve payroll tax matters.
  • Support audits and related reviews as required.
  • Serve as the escalation contact for complex payroll questions and issues.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 5 years of payroll experience in the APAC region.
  • Strong ability to deliver reliable and responsive payroll service.
  • In-depth understanding of APAC payroll taxes and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday and foreign payroll platforms such as ADP Celergo.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
  • High technical aptitude with excellent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage demanding deadlines under pressure.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical experience setting up payroll in overseas locations.
  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
