The company values thoughtful risk-taking, ambitious ideas, and teamwork. If you enjoy building at scale and want your work to have a meaningful impact, this role may be a strong fit.
Role Overview
Pigment is hiring a People Operations Specialist with a strong emphasis on payroll and benefits. The position focuses on making sure employees are paid correctly and on schedule while also overseeing the benefits and perks programs that support their well-being. The role also includes technical testing responsibilities for new workflows across Hibob, the HRIS platform, and Pigment’s internal application.
Core Responsibilities
The role centers on monthly payroll processing with a third-party provider, benefits administration, systems support, and compliance reporting. The scope mainly covers North America (USA and Canada), the UK, and the management of EOR providers. As the team grows, responsibilities may broaden further.
What You’ll Do
- Handle monthly payroll alongside an external payroll partner, ensuring accuracy, compliance with local rules, and on-time payment.
- Administer and review employee benefits programs, including medical coverage, dental and vision insurance, and retirement plans such as 401(k).
- Act as the primary contact for benefits vendors and employees on benefits-related matters.
- Use Hibob and Pigment App as a power user, test new workflows, and verify that data moves correctly between systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation and work with your manager to put improvements in place.
- Keep payroll documentation accurate and prepare reports for the finance team to support budget forecasting.
- Support payroll and people operations activities across the USA, Canada, the UK, and EOR provider relationships.
Profile We’re Looking For
This position suits someone who is highly detail-oriented, reliable with sensitive data, comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment, and able to balance multiple priorities. A practical, analytical, and experiment-driven approach to HR technology is important.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of payroll experience in the USA and Canada.
- Proven background in payroll and benefits administration for the scope described above.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical working style.
- Strong prioritization skills and a practical, solution-focused mindset.
- Good analytical ability and a willingness to test, learn, and improve HR systems.
- Strong discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to adapt quickly and manage several tasks in a dynamic international setting.
- Experience working with a third-party payroll provider.
- International payroll experience is considered a strong advantage.
Benefits and Perks
- Annual compensation of $102,000 to $120,000.
- Equity in the company through stock options.
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families.
- Generous paid time off and parental leave.
- Flexible working hours built on trust.
- One company offsite each year.
- Brand-new offices in major cities including New York, Toronto, Paris, London, and San Francisco.
- High-end equipment provided subject to availability.
- Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan for retirement savings.

- Go for it: Action is preferred, and every step is seen as a chance to learn and move closer to the mission.
