Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator who excels in accuracy and enjoys resolving payroll-related challenges. You'll manage payroll operations across several Hazelwood companies, collaborating closely with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure timely and precise employee compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payrolls accurately for multiple entities.
  • Oversee administration of employee benefits, RRSPs, commissions, tax remittances, and reimbursements.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records, ensuring data integrity.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and perform reconciliations.
  • Address and resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities and related reporting.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Finance departments to support payroll functions.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Payroll Assistants.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification preferred, either completed or underway.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP, Eclipse, Payworks, or equivalent systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and taxation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Exceptional precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational abilities, problem-solving skills, and effective time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service aptitude.
  • Team-focused and collaborative work style.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $70,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
