Your Mission
We are looking for a seasoned Payments Business Analyst with expertise in Card Schemes, based in Australia. This role is ideal for a professional experienced in payments business analysis, particularly with major card networks like Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Diners, and EFTPOS. The successful candidate will be skilled in navigating the intricacies of card schemes, regulatory environments, and providing strategic guidance to optimize payment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert business analysis for card schemes, interchange fees, and transaction processing, including the monitoring of scheme reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage and execute enhancement change programs.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with critical stakeholders, including vendors, card networks, and payment processors.
- Perform in-depth analysis and generate reports on card transaction trends, interchange fees, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies within the payments sector.
- Assist the Acquiring Operations team in addressing compliance requirements, particularly concerning card scheme mandates and other industry shifts.
- Facilitate workshops and deliver training sessions to internal stakeholders on best practices for card schemes and payment strategies.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the payments industry, with a specific emphasis on card schemes.
- A thorough understanding of Visa, MasterCard, and EFTPOS networks, encompassing their fee structures, compliance obligations, and risk management protocols.
- Demonstrated experience with payment gateway integration, acquiring, and processing services.
- A proven history of successfully implementing payment project changes and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks, especially Australian payment regulations.
- Proficient analytical skills, including experience in data analysis and cost optimization related to card payments.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex information to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
- A collaborative approach, with experience working effectively in cross-functional teams to deliver payment solutions.
