About the role
The Patient Support Nurse will support oncology patients and their caregivers by phone, guiding them through the full patient journey in line with the specifics of the oncology program. This position sits within Valeris, a life sciences commercialization partner formed through the combination of PharmaCord and Mercalis, focused on helping patients access and stay on critical therapies.

Schedule and work setup
This is a remote role operating in a professional home-office environment. Available shifts are: two positions from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, and one position from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
Applicants must be eligible to obtain licensure in all 50 states. The role also requires a secure, distraction-free workspace, reliable high-speed internet, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working from home. Typing speed of at least 35 WPM with 97% accuracy is preferred.
Minimal travel may be required, with the possibility of up to 25% travel subject to change.
What you will do
- Act as the first contact for patients, caregivers, and healthcare office staff, sharing approved education and information about oncology care, including benefit discussions, disease progression, product education, and program resources. This position does not include giving medical advice.
- Deliver treatment education for the program using approved FAQs and talking points.
- When needed, route callers through a warm handoff to the appropriate program partner, such as Specialty Pharmacy or Medical Information, for questions outside the scope of the role.
- Use Valeris leadership competencies to support team performance and success.
- Complete assigned training requirements on time, including corporate policies and procedures related to confidential data access.
- Follow all standard operating procedures consistently.
- Support additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Physical and technical requirements
- Comfort with regular speaking and listening, along with extended sitting, keyboard use, handling materials, and reaching.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote office environment using standard office tools such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
- Access to a dependable home-work setup that supports productivity, privacy, and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Active RN license is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- At least 4 years of clinical practice is required.
- Oncology background is preferred.
- Preferred certifications include Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Certified Case Manager (CCM), and Patient Advocate Certification Specialist (PACS).
- Experience in a manufacturer patient support program is preferred, especially work involving patients and healthcare providers, insurance verification, prior authorization, and access criteria.
- Background in case management or care coordination is preferred, including telephonic patient support and REMS programs.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- High empathy, emotional support skills, ethics, and integrity are important.
- Motivational interviewing experience is a plus.
- Salesforce experience is preferred.
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
- Must be eligible to obtain licensure in all 50 states.
