Job description
Position Summary
The Patient Benefits Analyst will play a key part in revenue cycle activities by reviewing patient coverage details, recording insurance information in Epic, spotting patterns in patient responsibility collections, and suggesting improvements that strengthen collections and third-party reimbursement outcomes. This position works closely with clinical and operational leaders on coverage discovery, patient responsibility, and broader revenue cycle efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine coverage discovery results for scheduled appointments to help determine the patient’s financial responsibility.
- Enter insurance coverage information accurately in Epic.
- Study trends in coverage and point-of-service patient collections across 88 clinic locations.
- Propose workflow and process enhancements to improve patient collections and third-party payments.
- Share insights and recommendations with clinical and operational leadership.
- Assist with revenue cycle projects and reporting tasks.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Hands-on experience with Epic PB (Professional Billing); certification is preferred.
- RHIA, RHIT, or CPC certification is mandatory.
- Background in revenue cycle reporting, system build, workflow logic, data analysis, claims adjudication, and training.
- Experience working with revenue cycle clearinghouse operations.
- Knowledge of third-party coverage discovery methods.
- Ability to interpret Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) results.
- Advanced-level experience with Epic.
- Subject matter expertise in revenue cycle clearinghouses.
- Strong understanding of insurance benefit interpretation.

This is an onsite contract position based in Jackson, MS. The role supports revenue cycle operations across a network of 88 clinic locations.
