Job description
About the Role
The Partnerships Project Lead will spearhead the creation, execution, and continuous enhancement of a diverse range of partnership programs aimed at improving the health and well-being of individuals in South London. A key focus will be on addressing health disparities and the broader social and economic factors influencing health. This role involves navigating a complex system, fostering strong relationships with community leaders, voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organizations, healthcare providers, funders, and commissioners. The objective is to translate shared objectives into actionable programs, ensuring their effective implementation and measurable impact. The postholder will be responsible for the successful management of significant partnerships with non-NHS funders and organizations, providing oversight, driving progress, and ensuring robust governance throughout program design, delivery, and evaluation.
A critical aspect of this position is serving as the NHS lead for the Trust's partnership with Impact on Urban Health. This includes initiatives focused on reducing inequalities in Black Maternal Health and Black Mental Health. The role requires accountability for ensuring that these efforts are well-coordinated, outcome-oriented, and sustainable in the long term.
This role is instrumental in shaping how the NHS collaborates with its partners. It will contribute to developing more participatory funding approaches, embedding learning across the healthcare system, and advancing strategic commissioning practices to more effectively tackle health inequalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of the Impact on Urban Health (IoUH) and other partnership initiatives, ensuring programs are conceptualized, launched, and executed according to established priorities, timelines, and desired outcomes.
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of the entire partnership portfolio, with a clear understanding of delivery progress, potential risks, interdependencies, and overall performance. Proactively address any issues to maintain momentum.
- Establish and manage effective governance structures to support program delivery. This includes organizing program board meetings, coordinating contributions from various partners, facilitating timely decision-making, and maintaining meticulous records and audit trails.
- Cultivate and nurture robust working relationships with community leaders, VCSE organizations, healthcare providers, and borough and system-level partners, ensuring engagement is meaningful and actively informs program design and execution.
- Develop and maintain connections with local and national funders who align with our values and objectives, employing a business development strategy to secure funding for the local healthcare system.
- Integrate insights from the system, community priorities, and partner feedback into program development, ensuring all work is responsive, credible, and aligned with local and broader system objectives.
- Collaborate with contracted partners to design and implement sustainable delivery models.
Our Values and Commitments
Our core values are kindness, respect, and togetherness. These are supported by a new framework outlining desired behaviors for each value, as well as behaviors that service users and their carers should expect from us. The full Values and Behaviours Framework is available as a PDF. This framework complements and strengthens our existing five commitments: Be caring, kind and polite; Be prompt and value your time; Be honest and direct with you; Take the time and listen to you; and Do what I say I’m going to do. These principles will be consistently applied, empowering staff to address poor behaviors and celebrate the positive application of our values.
