Role Overview

Brightmont Academy, established in 1999, provides personalized one-on-one learning for students from 1st through 12th grade. The school operates 27 campuses nationwide and emphasizes a supportive, individualized environment where students can progress with confidence.

This part-time Academic Success Coach role is based in Seattle, WA. The position centers on supervising the Homework Studio, an independent study setting that complements one-to-one instruction. In this supervised workspace, students use computers and a quiet area to finish schoolwork, strengthen study habits, build executive functioning skills, and take exams when needed.

What the Homework Studio Does

The Homework Studio is designed as a guided independent learning space. The coach’s role is to keep students engaged, encourage task completion, and help maintain a productive atmosphere while students work through coursework-related assignments.

Teaching Model Highlights

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s learning style and pace.
• Support students with a gradual release approach that builds confidence and academic mastery.
• Avoid routine lesson planning, parent meetings, and extensive grading so the focus stays on student support.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong patience and empathy, with the ability to support learners who progress in different ways.
• Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with students.
• Comfort using G-Suite and learning management systems.
• Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona and Washington, where applicable, and successfully pass a federal background check.
