Job Overview

The Painter will be responsible for maintaining the property's appearance by performing fundamental painting and wallcovering tasks. This role requires timely completion of maintenance work orders across departments, participation in the preventive maintenance program for all buildings and rooms, and involvement in special projects assigned by the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere fully to departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Understand and properly use all maintenance equipment according to intended purposes.
  • Respond promptly to guests' needs and maintain positive interactions at all times.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Keep assigned work areas clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Receive and prioritize daily tasks and special projects as directed by management.
  • Perform general maintenance in guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Support engineering staff with routine and preventive maintenance duties as needed.
  • Maintain, clean, and properly store tools used for the job.
  • Safely handle chemicals according to designated usage.
  • Safeguard any assigned keys to maintain security.
  • Participate in departmental and staff meetings as required.
  • Suggest safety improvements and engage in fire prevention and other safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years' experience as a commercial painter.
  • Proficient knowledge of various paint types and their applications.
  • Experienced in using and applying wall coverings such as wallpaper and vinyl.
  • Understanding of stains and finishes relevant to painting work.
  • Familiarity with all tools and equipment necessary for painting duties.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturer guidelines regarding installation, preparation, usage, and maintenance of materials.
  • Knowledge of correct chemical handling and disposal procedures.
  • Proficiency in English verbal and non-verbal communication related to the job.
