Role overview
Valence Surface Technologies is looking for a Painter 1 to support production painting work in Eastman, Georgia. The position focuses on preparing, mixing, applying, and inspecting paint on parts according to job specifications, while following safety and quality standards throughout the process.
Key duties
- Prepare paint blends by measuring and combining materials exactly to specification.
- Check the work order and verify that the mixed paint matches the part requirements before placing the item in the spray booth.
- Clean parts in line with the required process before painting.
- Apply paint to the specified thickness and finish requirements.
- Keep the paint booth maintained by replacing filters, preventing foreign object debris, and completing required paperwork.
- Inspect finished parts for coating quality, coverage, and appearance.
- Work effectively across different metals and surface types.
- Use judgment to handle moderately complex or unusual situations when performing painting tasks.
- Follow safety procedures and wear the required masks and protective clothing during spray operations.
- Complete the daily paint checklist.
- Use all personal protective equipment required under OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain paint tools and equipment in working condition.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Experience and education
The role calls for 6 to 12 months of manufacturing experience. Prior aircraft painting experience of more than 1 year is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
