Role Overview
The P2P channel is a key fiat entry point in crypto and has already moved beyond an early-stage setup. The next phase is to strengthen liquidity, improve merchant quality, speed up dispute resolution, and deliver a localised trading experience that fits different payment markets. The goal is to turn an already usable product into the first choice for users, with better completion rates, fewer disputes, stronger merchant standards, and a repeatable launch approach for new fiat markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the full P2P trading flow, including matching, ad ranking, price discovery, release processing, and dispute resolution, with accountability for completion rate, dispute rate, and average trade time.
- Design and improve the merchant segmentation framework across onboarding, tiers, deposits, KYB, incentives, commissions, and risk controls.
- Work closely with risk, compliance, and support teams to rebuild anti-fraud and dispute processes covering account farming, money laundering, frozen cards, third-party payment fraud, and related abuse patterns.
- Lead launches of new markets and payment methods in coordination with localisation, compliance, and business development teams, from prioritisation through post-launch adoption and penetration.
- Create data feedback systems that surface abnormal order behaviour, user drop-off, merchant shifts, and product weaknesses before they become larger operational issues.
Must-Have Experience
- Hands-on market research is expected; you should go beyond dashboards by testing competitor products, placing real P2P trades, engaging with merchant communities, speaking with support teams, and investigating the root cause of disputes.
- Prior experience should include marketplace, payments, trading, risk, or dispute-related products where incentives, abuse prevention, liquidity, and user experience all had to be balanced together.
- You need to be comfortable making judgement calls in situations where compliance, risk, and growth objectives conflict, and then explain those tradeoffs clearly to cross-functional teams.
- You should treat bad actors as an ongoing part of the operating environment and know how to tighten protections without disrupting legitimate user activity.
- Relevant background includes crypto exchange P2P, OTC, cross-border payments, acquiring, consumer finance risk, e-commerce dispute handling, or anti-fraud work.
Strong Advantages
- Experience with local payment behaviour in emerging markets, including why users and merchants work around formal product design, will be highly valuable.
- Experience building merchant, seller, or agent ecosystems where incentives and enforcement had to develop in parallel is a plus.
