Job description

Role overview

This position serves as the organization structure and job design subject matter expert for SATORP. The specialist will advise line organizations on organizational structure, job architecture, job descriptions, and job evaluation, while helping ensure that company roles and reporting lines remain clear, effective, and aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s organizational structure.
  • Provide expert guidance on organization design topics such as hierarchy, job titles, reporting lines, and the right number of employees in each role.
  • Review the current structure through organizational assessments to spot issues such as duplicated work, overlapping duties, and weak structural effectiveness.
  • Evaluate how proposed structural changes may affect organizational efficiency and individual positions.
  • Create and monitor organization effectiveness measures across different company levels, and work with stakeholders to collect, verify, and report the results.
  • Carry out external benchmarking and comparative reviews to support ongoing improvements in organizational design efficiency.
  • Build a strong understanding of all company jobs and assess job levels accurately through detailed job analysis.
  • Write, update, and preserve job descriptions for all SATORP positions, ensuring they remain current and consistent.
  • Conduct job evaluation and grading using suitable methodologies and tools, and create benchmark roles and reference points to support evaluation decisions.
  • Manage the company’s job evaluation system and support role placement for all positions.
  • Contribute to job evaluation review projects by arranging meetings, gathering supporting data and documents, validating outcomes, and delivering related training.
  • Take part in external compensation surveys by matching roles, collecting data, and helping prepare and assess job profiles.
  • Develop and maintain technical and professional career ladders to support career growth, and assist the Training and Career Development team in identifying key competencies for jobs.
  • Work with external consultants and third parties engaged for organization design, job description, or job evaluation assignments.
  • Coach HR team members on organization design, job analysis, job description preparation, and job evaluation work.
  • Handle other related duties as assigned by the HR Policies & Planning Superintendent.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required.

Experience

Candidates should bring at least 6 years of experience in organization design and job evaluation, including a minimum of 2 years in a comparable role.
