About the company

New Zealand King Salmon is the largest producer of king salmon in the world. The company grows and markets premium salmon internationally through the Ōra King, Regal, and Southern Ocean brands. About the role

As the organisation expands, an experienced organisational development specialist is needed to help shape its next chapter. This position focuses on building a capable, engaged, and future-focused workforce by leading initiatives that strengthen culture, improve leadership capability, support development across the business, and drive employee engagement overall.

Reporting to the GM People & Culture, the role works closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to align people initiatives with business goals and to promote a culture of continuous improvement and strong performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement a joined-up organisational development strategy that improves engagement, adaptability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Oversee and refine systems for performance, learning, and talent management so the business can attract, develop, and keep strong people.
  • Build career pathways and development options that encourage progression and retention.
  • Support senior leaders through coaching and mentoring to increase their effectiveness and influence.
  • Spot capability gaps and propose learning solutions that meet present and future organisational needs.

Requirements

  • A degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a role focused on capability or workforce development.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering organisational development programmes and initiatives.
  • Strong collaborative leadership style with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Comfort working in a setting where trust and collaboration are essential.
