About Aptean
Aptean India Pvt Ltd. is seeking an experienced HR Workforce System Expert specializing in Oracle Time and Labor to join their team in Bengaluru, India. This is an individual contributor role where you will serve as the senior functional authority for Oracle Fusion HCM Time & Labor, supporting complex workforce and payroll systems globally.
About the Role
As the HR Workforce System Expert, you will be instrumental in the design, configuration, testing, and ongoing support of Oracle Fusion HCM Time & Labor. Your work will ensure accurate time capture, compliant payroll processing, and an optimized employee and manager experience. This position requires a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on execution, involving end-to-end management of complex initiatives, influencing stakeholders across HR, Payroll, and IT, and acting as a subject matter expert within a global organization. Success hinges on a proactive, analytical, and collaborative approach, with the ability to connect complex issues and drive progress through effective communication and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Oracle Fusion HCM Time & Labor functionality, including time profiles, schedules, approval workflows, validations, exception handling, security settings, and intricate time rules to ensure accurate and compliant outcomes.
- Support advanced use cases such as shift work, overtime calculations, premium pay, allowances, rounding rules, and compliance-driven constraints in regulated or unionized environments.
- Lead full-cycle implementations and enhancements, from initial discovery through hypercare, managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution, defect resolution, and readiness for quarterly Oracle releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, validation, and controlled deployments.
- Develop and maintain Oracle Fast Formulas, manage data loading processes using HDL/HSDL, and support integrations between Time & Labor, Payroll, Absence Management, and third-party systems.
- Enable and optimize the Redwood Time Entry interface, including the Web Clock, to enhance the user experience for employees and managers.
- Collaborate closely with Payroll teams to ensure accurate consumption of time data and reconciliation of payroll results.
- Develop and maintain OTBI and BI Publisher reports, enforce robust data controls, ensure auditability and segregation of duties, and support internal and external audits related to time capture and pay accuracy.
- Partner with HR Operations, Payroll, Workforce Planning, IT, and external vendors to translate business requirements into scalable solutions, producing comprehensive documentation, configuration workbooks, test artifacts, and user training materials.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with Oracle Fusion HCM, with in-depth, hands-on expertise in Time & Labor.
- Experience leading multiple end-to-end Oracle Time & Labor implementations, including post-go-live stabilization and hypercare phases.
- Technical proficiency in Time rules, calculations, schedules, approvals, and exceptions; Fast Formula; HDL/HSDL; OTBI; BI Publisher; Redwood Time Entry; and integrations across Time & Labor, Payroll, Absence, and third-party systems.
- A strong understanding of Oracle security models, data controls, auditability, and how payroll consumes time results.
- Demonstrated ability to lead UAT, manage defects, influence senior stakeholders, translate complex requirements into scalable designs, and maintain high standards for documentation and controls.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Preference for candidates with an Oracle HCM Cloud Certification in Time & Labor or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting workforces in regulated or unionized environments.
- A solid grasp of Redwood UX patterns and the implications of quarterly Oracle releases.
- Experience managing Time & Labor compliance reporting and operational controls in a global context.
Working Style & Competencies
- Ability to work independently with clear ownership and accountability.
- Comfortable leading through expertise and influence rather than direct management.
- Capacity to manage multiple complex priorities concurrently.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities.
- Willingness to challenge existing processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
